Gospel of God — Weekly Encouragement – October 11, 2020

Greetings Friend,

       “Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the GOSPEL OF GOD, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; Repent and Believe in the Gospel.’” (Mark 1:14-15)

       Then, as Chapter One of Mark explains, He went about showing the crowds what the Kingdom of God is like – He cast out demons (there are no demons in the Kingdom); He healed those who were ill (there is no sickness in the Kingdom) – and He had said, “the Kingdom of God is at hand” – that means available to us here, now!

       Then He said to Repent (“to change one’s mind for better”); whatever you have been believing, change for the better and Believe instead in this Gospel of God.

       Jesus really wanted us to get this message because “He said to them, ‘Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for.” (Mark 1:38)

       So, here’s the Encouragement: Just as Jesus said – Repent and Believe in the Gospel of God. Anything else is just religion.
