Sit with Jesus – Luke 10 Encouragement

Sit with Jesus – Luke 10 Encouragement

Greetings,

One of the things I’ve been trying to say with these Encouragements is that True Christianity has us looking like Jesus. He sends His disciples out to demonstrate His Kingdom; Heal the sick, Raise the dead; Cast out demons. We see it in all the Gospels. So how are we supposed to be able to walk like that?

“A woman named Martha welcomed Him [Jesus] into her home. She had a sister called Mary who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, ‘Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Tell her to help me.’” (Luke 10:38-40)

We can relate to Martha, can’t we? We serve God at church more that some others; or we try hard to quit sinning more than others; etc. – the Truth is that anything we try to do FOR the Lord is usually a distraction. God’s way is for us to do things WITH Him! Look at what Jesus said to Martha:

“Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42)

So, here’s the Encouragement: Sit at the Lord’s feet and listen — you will hear Him. Sometimes He will say, for example, “Come with me, let’s go cast demons out of that one so they can receive My Love and be healed of their affliction.” Then go with Him and watch His Kingdom come to them as He moves through you with His Love – that’s how to walk the Christian walk; that’s abundant living!

God bless,

Dave
