Rest in God — Weekly Encouragement – September 6, 2020

Greetings Friend,

       Are you a BELIEVING Believer? That’s an important question because Believing Believers enter into a ‘REST’ in God.

       “And with whom was He angry for 40 years? Was it not with those who SINNED, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would NOT enter His REST, but to those who were DISOBEDIENT?” (Hebrews 3:17-18)

       Those disobedient sinners – it sounds like we should all try harder to ‘obey’ and quit ‘sinning’, doesn’t it? Look at the next verse: “So we see that they were not able to enter because of UNBELIEF.”(Hebrews 3:19)

       “Therefore, let us Fear if, while a promise remains of entering His REST, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had Good News preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by Faith in those who heard it.” (Hebrews 4:1-2)

       So, here’s the Encouragement: The Good News is really GOOD NEWS – Believe it! “For we who have Believed enter that REST…” (Hebrews 4:3) “Therefore let us be diligent to enter that REST…”(Hebrews 4:11)
