Repent; Return to your First Love — Weekly Encouragement – July 5, 2020

Greetings Friend,

I want us to see how Jesus talked about Repentance — He didn’t talk about it at all like how religious Christians talk about it.

“I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false; and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary.” (Revelation 2:2-3)

It sure sounds to me that Jesus was impressed and pleased with their behavior. It doesn’t seem like they had a “sin problem” does it? But a little later He told them to Repent — What was His concern?

“But I have this against you, that you have left your First Love.” There it is!!! “Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place — unless you repent.” (Revelation 2:4-5)

Can you see it? More than anything, the Lord wants us intimately involved in an outrageous, unconditional, everlasting Love relationship with Him.

So, here’s the Encouragement: Let’s Really Repent, like Jesus asked us to — Let’s return to our First Love. Receive God’s Love for you and fall in Love again with the One who is Love — the One who Loves you beyond anything you could ever imagine.

God bless,

Dave
