Jesus is your Life — Weekly Encouragement – July 5, 2020

Greetings Friend,

Some people are obsessed by End Times contemplation and conversation. There have been a lot of books written – anticipating when the return of Jesus will take place. Many times, “prophets” have given specific dates for Jesus’ return; dates that have come and gone and yet we are still waiting. All these predictions have, not surprisingly, been in error because Jesus said, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” (Matthew 24:36)

       So, how should we consider and approach the End Times? Jesus said:

       “Therefore, be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming…you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.” (Matthew 24:42-44)

       In the parable of the 10 virgins, Jesus said, “…those who were ready went in with Him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut…Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.” (Matthew 25:10-13)

       So, here’s the Encouragement: Let’s be ready and on the alert! We do that as sheep with our whole Life focused on our Shepherd. Because, “When Christ, who is our Life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in Glory.” (Colossians 3:4) “Then the King will say to those on His right (the sheep), ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.’” (Matthew 25:34)
