Jesus Stayed – Luke 23 Encouragement

Jesus Stayed – Luke 23 Encouragement

Greetings

When Jesus was Crucified: “even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, ‘He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.’” (Luke 23:35)

“The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine and saying, ‘If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!’” (Luke 23:36-37)

“One of the criminals who was hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, ‘Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!’” (Luke 23:39)

Jesus was mocked, beaten, spit on, flogged, ultimately crucified – and He could have stopped all of it at any time. He was God, He didn’t have to go through all that – all He would have had to do is give up on you.

“But Dave, why are you talking about the crucifixion; I thought this is a Christmas Encouragement?”

Exactly! Jesus didn’t even consider saving Himself because the whole point of Christmas is – He was born so He could pay the price to save you.

So, here’s the Encouragement: Even though He could have gotten down from the cross at any time, because He Loves you so much, He stayed! We hear, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” No, you are the reason for the season – He was born for you! “Thank You for being born for me, Jesus!”

God bless,

Dave
