Jesus is the Word – Luke 24 Encouragement

Jesus is the Word – Luke 24 Encouragement

Greetings

There were a couple of guys walking home on Sunday talking about the crucifixion of Jesus they had witnessed a few days earlier; they were expressing their sadness and disappointment because they were hoping this Jesus was the Messiah. They had seen Him die, and when “Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them … their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him.” (Luke 24:15-16)

As they talked, Jesus “beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:27) You see, all the Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) are about Jesus!

Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have Eternal Life; it is these that testify about Me;”(John 5:39)

After the two guys realized it was Jesus they had been walking with and talking with, “They said to one another, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?’” (Luke 24:32)

So, here’s the Encouragement: Get in the Scriptures and look for Jesus; listen for the voice of Jesus; and watch your heart come Alive. It feels really good when your heart burns with the recognition of Jesus, the One who is the Word, and Life, and Truth.

God bless,

Dave
