Repent – Turn to King Jesus — Weekly Encouragement – May 17, 2020
“Paul said, ‘John baptized with the baptism of Repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.’” (Acts 19:4)
The religious world is confused about Repentance – they tell us it is about what we are turning FROM. Jesus said it is about what we are turning TO; He said, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”(Matthew 4:17) Repentance is all about turning to and believing in King Jesus – and when we trust in the King, we get His Kingdom.
Wednesday you will read how Jesus said the Gospel is about Repentance when He charged Paul with his ministry. Jesus said, “…I am sending you, to open the eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of satan to God, that they may receive Forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by Faith in Me.” (Acts 26:17-18)
So, here’s the Encouragement: Let’s Repent – Let’s open our eyes! Let’s all turn in Faith to King Jesus; to His Light; to God our Heavenly Father – and receive total Forgiveness and the fullness of our Kingdom Inheritance in Him. When we completely Repent TO the richness of the True Gospel, anything we might need to repent from will certainly fade away.
