Hold and be Held – Luke 2 Encouragement

Hold and be Held – Luke 2 Encouragement

Greetings,

“And there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon. . .And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.” (Luke 2:25-26)

Then Jesus is born (It’s the most amazing story in Luke 2:1-20. I can’t read it without tearing up because of the overwhelming story of Love that it is!) and Mary and Joseph take Him to be dedicated to God as Mary’s first-born according to the Law of Moses.

“then he [Simeon] took Him [Jesus] into his arms, and blessed God, and said, ‘Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond servant to depart in peace, according to Your word, for my eyes have seen Your Salvation. . .’” (Luke 2:28-30)

Simeon’s life was now whole because he held Jesus, just like Holy Spirit said.

So, here’s the Encouragement: Listen for what Holy Spirit is telling you about Jesus.  Are you holding Jesus and is Jesus holding you? Holy Spirit is drawing each one of us to hold and be held because, just like with Simeon, that’s the only way for us to become whole.

God bless,

Dave
