God’s Love is always Legal – Luke 14 Encouragement

Greetings,

     Jesus asked, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?” (Luke 14:3)

     Jesus was so not politically correct. He was, and is, Truth. On this Sabbath day, Jesus was in the very house of a religious leader along with some of his religious friends, and in front of Him was a man with an illness. Of course, Jesus knew the religious interpretation of the Law would forbid healing on the Sabbath.

     Jesus could have let the man continue in his infliction.  He could have told the man to come see him tomorrow. He could have even, just quietly, healed the man. But, by asking that question, it looks like Jesus was thinking, “What a great opportunity to show this Pharisee, and his religious friends just how inconsistent, and even ugly, their religion is.” Jesus healed the man right in front of them – in their leader’s own house!

     Then Jesus said to them, “Which one of you will have a son or an ox fall into a well, and will not immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?” (Luke 14:5) In your face – you don’t even keep the religious rules that you judge others for. Look guys, it doesn’t matter what the rules are where love and compassion are concerned. Everyone has fallen into one or another of the enemy’s wells, and God’s Love pulling them out is always His will.

     So, here’s the Encouragement: God’s Love is legal, every day of the week! If you’ll let Him, the Lord will Love through you every day of the year!! Abundant Living comes from letting God’s Love flow through you to pull people out of wells every day of your Life!!!
