Give Yourself to God – Luke 20 Encouragement

Give Yourself to God – Luke 20 Encouragement

Greetings

Scribes and Chief Priests were going after Jesus and they sent spies who asked, “Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”(Luke 20:22)

You probably know the story, Jesus knew they were trying to trick Him, and He said, “‘Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?’ They said, ‘Caesar’s.’” (Luke 20:24) Jesus’ answer to them was classic. He said, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and [render] to God the things that are God’s.” (Luke 20:25)

Have you ever considered what are the “God’s things” Jesus was talking about that we are to render to God? The God’s things are you. He was talking about you. So, give yourself to God. If you have, you are the Lord’s Child. 1Corinthians 6:20-21 says “you are not your own; for you have been bought with a price.”

So, here’s the Encouragement: (Drum roll – are you listening?) Just like the image of Caesar was on the coin, the image of God is on you! Look in the mirror and see the Lord; and watch Holy Spirit make His image manifest in you more and more – from Glory to Glory! (2Corinthians 3”18)

God bless,

Dave
