Partake of God’s Grace — Weekly Encouragement – September 20, 2020
Greetings Friend,
“…To all the Saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi…” (Philippians 1:1) Paul was writing to the church in Philippi, but he is also writing to us who are Saints in Christ Jesus – is that you?
Look at what Paul is saying about you if you are. “…you all are partakers of Grace…” (Philippians 1:7) You “having been FILLED with the FRUIT of Righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the Glory and Praise of God.” (Philippians 1:11) That sounds a lot like what he told the Galatians when he said that we have received Holy Spirit and “the FRUIT of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control…” (Galatians 5:22-23) As you partake of God’s Grace, are you experiencing the FRUIT?
And “Finally, brethren, whatever is True, whatever is Honorable, whatever is Right, whatever is Pure, whatever is Lovely, whatever is of Good Repute, if there is any EXCELLENCE and if anything Worthy of Praise, dwell on these things…practice these things, and the God of Peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:8-9)
So, here’s the Encouragement: Receive God’s outrageous Love for you; partake of the Grace that flows out of that Love; and experience the EXCELLENT FRUIT that is part of God’s Grace. “And this I pray, that your Love may abound still more and more in Real Knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are EXCELLENT…” (Philippians 1:9-10)
God bless,
Dave
