All-in – Luke 21 Encouragement

All-in – Luke 21 Encouragement

Greetings

“And He saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins. And He said, ‘Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them…she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.'” (Luke 21:2-4)

One day when I was ministering in a prison, in a discussion after a short talk about Christianity, one of the inmates, a Mr. Freeman, said, “I believe Christianity is everything, or it is nothing.” I believe Mr. Freeman understands Christianity.

I heard a story (parable) once of a boy who went to church with a friend, and when they passed around the offering plate, the boy asked, “What’s this?” His friend said, “We put in this plate what we are offering to God.” The boy took the plate, set it on the floor, and stepped into it. The boy was ‘all-in’. Christianity is an all-in thing.

Have you ever seen a trapeze artist switch from one swing to be caught by a person swinging from another? He has to let go of the one in order to be caught by the other – and if the other doesn’t catch him, he falls. We need to get to the place where we say, “I quit! I’m letting go of all my agendas – God, if You’re not real; if You don’t catch me, I’m going down.” He is real, and He will catch you, and that’s when real Life begins.

So, here’s the Encouragement: Be all-in! Are you all-in? “When Christ, who is our life…” (Colossians 3:4) Is Jesus your life? Make Jesus your life!

God bless,

Dave
