He is Risen Indeed — Easter Encouragement – April 12, 2020
Greetings Friend,
“He is Risen!” (Matthew 28:6) “He is Risen Indeed!!” You’ve probably heard that – you’ve maybe even said it yourself. Someone says, “He is Risen!” and others respond, “He is Risen Indeed!!” Well, it’s True!! HALLALUJAH!!!
If we would base our life on that, we would have no limit. Jesus said, “All things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23) So, do you believe? Really believe so that it makes a difference in your life? Jesus said, “Only believe.” (Mark 5:36) It’s easy to not believe like that. James wrote, “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that…” (James 2:19)
Jesus had told His disciples several times that He would be killed, but that He would rise from the dead in 3 days. Even so, after He was raised and seen by Mary Magdalene, “She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping. When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they [even His disciples – who had been told in advance] refused to believe it.” (Mark 16:10-11) The Truth of the Gospel is too fantastic! It’s easy to not really believe it.
In Mark 9 (and again in Matthew 17) there is a story that ends with Jesus addressing not really believing, and He said, “This kind [of unbelief] cannot come out by anything but PRAYER.” (Mark 9:29)
So, here’s the Encouragement: Let’s not waste the Resurrection of Jesus! Let’s spend time with the One who is Risen Indeed (that’s what prayer is) that our Faith will grow. Determine to regularly hang out with the Lord – that’s what He was raised for. Make no mistake, He is Alive! “He is Risen!” “He is Risen Indeed!!”
God bless,
Dave
